Frequently asked questions
Why is my text PDF not much smaller?
Compression re-encodes pages as JPEG images, so scans and image documents shrink the most. A text-only PDF that is already efficient may barely shrink — the tool tells you when that happens.
Is the original file modified?
Never. The compressed copy is a brand-new file downloaded to your device; the original stays untouched.
Can I still copy text after compressing?
No — after re-rendering, pages are images. If you need selectable text, use the Light level or skip compression.
